php|architect’s Guide to Programming with Magento
Been trying to get as up to speed as fast as possible with Magento for some future modules I have planned and have been reading this book,
php|Architects Guide to Programming with Magento. So far it has been a very insightful read, although it is somewhat dated as their are section mentioning bundled products as a future feature but doesn’t go into details of the new product type. Magento now has bundled products. However there are lots of insightful chapters on other things that I have not picked up on. Some of which I was aware of just from reading Magento’s Community forum’s, Wiki entries and other people’s blog postings and just simply playing with Magento myself.
They do offer the book in a PDF form for a dirt cheap price of $29.99 and is well worth the small amount their asking for it for anyone who’s really wanting to get good understanding of the internal’s of Magento. It isn’t a very complex book but just enough complexity for anyone who has had previous programming experience with PHP and such to pick it up and hit the ground running. If I had to give a rating it would be four stars out of five.
